Terms of Service
Effective October 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Engine9, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“engine9,” “we,” “us”), for your use of Delegate at delegate.network. By signing in with Delegate you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Delegate.
1. What Delegate is
Delegate is a common sign-in service. Websites that use Delegate (each a domain) send you here to sign in, and Delegate tells the domain who you are and shares the details you agree to share. The domains are run by their own operators, not by us, unless the domain says otherwise. Your use of a domain is governed by that domain's own terms and privacy policy.
2. Who can use Delegate
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms yourself or with a parent's or guardian's permission.
3. Signing in
You sign in with Google, Facebook, or an emailed link. Keep that account and your email secure; anyone who controls them can sign in as you. Use your own identity and give accurate details. Tell us at legal@delegate.network if you think someone else signed in as you. Google's and Meta's own terms apply to your use of their sign-in.
4. Sharing with domains
Delegate shares your details with a domain only after you agree, and you can revoke a domain's permission on your Delegate page at any time. Revoking stops future sharing; a domain may keep what it already received under its own policies. We are not responsible for what domains do with the information you share with them.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- sign in as someone else or misrepresent who you are;
- break the law, or help anyone else break it, through Delegate;
- probe, scan, or test Delegate's security, or get around its limits, without our written permission;
- interfere with Delegate, overload it, or access it by automated means other than the published sign-in protocol;
- copy, resell, or make Delegate available to others except as a domain we have registered.
Domains must be registered with us and follow the Delegate protocol. We may refuse or disable any domain.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
7. Changes to Delegate and to these terms
We may change, suspend, or stop Delegate, in whole or in part. We may change these terms; we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will give notice on Delegate's sign-in pages before they take effect. Using Delegate after that means you accept the new terms.
8. Ending use
You may stop using Delegate at any time and ask us to delete your data under the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your use of Delegate if you break these terms or if needed to protect Delegate, domains, or other people. Sections 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12 survive.
9. Disclaimer
DELEGATE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT DELEGATE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DOMAIN WILL ACCEPT IT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, ENGINE9 WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM DELEGATE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO DELEGATE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
11. Indemnity
If you use Delegate in breach of these terms or the law, you will defend and indemnify engine9 against third-party claims that result, to the extent the law allows.
12. Governing law
The laws of the State of Delaware, USA, govern these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and engine9 consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose laws give you the right to bring claims in your home courts or under your home law, these terms do not take that right away.
13. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and engine9 about Delegate. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a part is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
